High Availability
servers: ca1-arrow1 and ca2-arrow1
Arrow has been architected to provide higher availability, HA is configured for the various components for arrow.
1) SQL
2) MQ messaging
3) EXE/DLLs the actual Application service
4) Shared Folder
SQL
- uses sql always on availability groups with windows failover cluster as a supplement for failover control.
- 6 databases are configured to replicate
MS Messaging
- uses an Azure Shared disk (Z:) where failover is controlled by windows failover cluster
- floating IP 10.29.131.24 will go to teh primary server only unless its down, it will then float to the standby server.
3 + 4 are pending migration to the shared disk so they too have failover capability via the shared disk.
- There is no availability set for the 2 servers because AV set do not protect a shared disk in event of host failure, so there is no purpose.
- Shared disk are not zonal in Canada, hence no availability zones.
